#SignForOurBookshops

I’m so happy to be part of the national campaign to support bookshops this Christmas, #SignForOurBookshops. It’s been a tough year for bookshops, who have worked so hard to keep bring us books and provide book recommendations, taking orders online or over the phone. The weeks running up to Christmas are usually their busiest and in England they are closed again.

We need our bookshops and booksellers. Their knowledge of books and their passion for reading means that they can help you find ‘just’ the right book, whoever you are buying for. They work so hard to support authors and readers.

Over 200 authors are taking part in #SignForOurBookshops and I’m thrilled to join their ranks.

SO WHY BOOKPLATES?

Well in the run up to Christmas authors can often be seen popping into bookshops to sign books (if you spot a smiley person in your local bookshop brandishing a sharpie, the chances are they’re an author) but this year that can’t happen, so instead we’re going online and offering to sign bookplates that you can pop into a book for a truly personalised, signed gift.

SOUNDS FUN, SO WHAT ARE YOU OFFERING, SARAH?

I’m pledging  the following:

  • I will send a personalised bookplate to 20 people who buy one of my books through a bookshop during lockdown (UK only).
  • I will send signed bookplates or signed postcards to 10 bookshops (UK Only).

I’m offering this on a first-come, first-served basis and will have to receive all requests by December 2nd in order to get everything sorted and back to you in time for Christmas.

HOW DO I GET IN TOUCH?

Contact me via the contact form on this website, or send me a DM via twitter (@scraphamster) with proof of purchase from one of our fabulous bookshops and I’ll make up a personalised bookplate and pop it in the post.
